Notice to the Congregation

After careful consideration and much discussion it has been decided that for the summer months there will be only one worship service. Most likely Reverend Sullins will not be installed until early August, and Dr. Miller (Mark) will be with us only until June 13th, so it is likely we will have a month or more where we have some visiting ministers, and it is not a good situation to ask them to do two services. It would also not be fair or prudent to ask Rev Knox (Jack) to take over the duties of a Senior Pastor, in addition to his own. In addition, it would be beneficial to Jill and the rest of us to be at our best when she arrives. By combining (or reuniting) the two relatively separate worship groups we will have a better opportunity to plan, worship and do ministry together. Also, having one service frees up some resources, makes it easier to do serving schedules and helps promote a larger attendance per service. We hope you will be supportive of this decision. It was not made cavalierly, and we sincerely apologize to anyone to whom this may cause inconvenience. We just want the best for you and FCC on the whole.

Let us be clear that this is just through the summer months. This Sunday, May 16th will be the last “two service” Sunday, until September 12th, at which time we will return to the “two services” schedule.

The schedule of time is altered slightly as well. Beginning on May 30, our Sunday School will begin at 9:00 AM and worship will be at 10:00 AM.

Please include in your family calendar our worship and educational life together:

May 16: 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Worship with Education at 9:30 a.m.

May 23: One service at 10:30 a.m.—Youth Service with Graduation Recognition Luncheon to follow

May 30: Begin our new schedule: 9 a.m. Education; 10 a.m. Worship
